Giving wholeheartedly

It should be clear by now that helping and giving are not optional in the Bible. Jesus never said help if you feel like it or during your holidays. He never said give only if you have extra or if you don’t need your surplus.

The Bible encourages us to have our peer as equals, to give from our surplus, from our scarcity. To give financially, emotionally, just give…

A very descriptive video about giving that I encourage you to watch and ponder upon the changes you can make

Serving in the Little things

Throughout the last month we have been looking at serving and how the Bible actually presents it. So, first we focused on Serving in Obedience to God, then Serving in Faith and last week Serving Prophetically. Today, we got to Serving Evangelistically.

What really stroke the group was that maybe sometimes we have are eyes on a “big revolution” and try to do something so big, crowds and crowds will get to know Jeusus in an instant. But with pursuing that we forget about the little things, about maybe the less significant ones. Whereas, doing small things for the people around us, for our families can have that huge impact.

The Bible says that “they will know us by our deeds”. We, as followers of Christ cannot save anyone, cannot forgive anyone’s sins. Our role is to live like Christ, love like him and show him in everything we do. People will ask and will want to know what is in us, what’s that special ingredient. So, most of the times, you can just show Christ, by being yourself!

We had an great short video that emphasises the importance of little things. And you know what, they can have a great impact and it’s not that difficult to do http://bit.ly/power_in_little_things

Proclaiming the year of Jubilee!

We had a good gathering together this week at Dwell, exploring what it means to live a life that proclaims the year of jubilee that Jesus first proclaimed in the Synagogue at Nazareth:

The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” Luke 4:18-19
